Bejda Torbani was born and raised in Prizren, Kosovo, and is currently a second-year Biomedical Engineering student at Samsun University in Türkiye. A graduate of the Turkish Maarif Schools in Kosovo, she has always been passionate about how science, technology, and education can work together to improve communities and create positive change in humanity.
One of Bejda’s most memorable experiences was leading her team to represent Kosovo at the FIRST Robotics Competition for the first time. This opportunity allowed her to develop essential skills in leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, all while witnessing how technology can be applied to solve real-world problems in creative ways. For Bejda, this experience was an important learning moment that contributed to her personal and academic growth but is just one chapter in her ongoing journey in education and technology.
Beyond her academic work, Bejda contributed as a columnist for İyi Fikir Magazine, a publication by the International Maarif Schools of Kosovo. Through her writing, she shared her thoughts on education and community development, believing these are key areas for building more inclusive, supportive societies where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
At Samsun University, Bejda is an active member of the International Students Community management team, where she helps support and connect students from diverse backgrounds. She also serves as the student leader for Türkiye Maarif Vakfı in Samsun, working to create a sense of community and belonging among students.
Currently, Bejda is focused on her biomedical engineering studies and projects, looking for practical solutions to challenges in healthcare and other areas. She is also committed to using her education to help others and promote equal access to educational opportunities. Through her studies and community involvement, Bejda hopes to inspire others to pursue their goals and make meaningful contributions to society.
